Well-off Artalyta loses appetite at new prison

Deprived of the luxurious facilities she enjoyed in Pondok Bambu prison, East Jakarta, bribery convict Artalyta "Ayin" Suryani has reportedly not touched her modest meals since she was moved to the Tangerang woman penitentiary.

Tangerang prison warden Arti Wirastuti said Wednesday the well-off inmate had changed her lifestyle and appearance soon after arriving at the new prison.

“She no longer looks different from other inmates now,” Arti said, but added Artalyta had not yet become accustomed to the prison food.

Arti said that at her previous prison Artalyta had always eaten the food her family had delivered to the prison every day.

Artalyta, graft convict Darmawati Dareho and drug abuse convict Liem "Aling" Marita were transferred to the Tangerang jail after a presidential task force found they enjoyed exclusive facilities at Pondok Bambu prison.

“We have prepared a cell for Ayin in the Mawar pavilion and she will share the room with three other inmates while Aling will be placed the drug cell,” Arti said.
