President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono denied speculation that his meeting with top officials Thursday at the Bogor presidential palace in West Java was related to the Bank Century case, currently under investigation by the House of Representatives.

"This meeting was not designed to discuss specific issues such as the Bank Century case. We discussed fundamental issues related to the state," Yudhoyono told reporters after the meeting.

Attending the meeting were Constitutional Court chief M. Mahfud MD, Supreme Court chief justice Harifin Tumpa, Judicial Commission chairman  M. Busyro Muqoddas, Supreme Audit Agency chief Hadi Purnomo, House of Representatives Speaker Marzuki Alie, People's Consultative Assembly Speaker Taufik Kiemas, Regional Representatives Council Speaker Irman Gusman, Coordinating Economic Minister Hatta Rajasa, Coordinating Public Welfare Minister
Agung Laksono and Coordinating Political, Legal and Security Affairs Minster Djoko Suyanto.

Yudhoyono said the Century case should be addressed in accordance with the laws. He said the people should be informed about whether there were violations connected to the Rp 6.76 trillion (US$716 million) in bailout funds to the bank in November 2008.

"Remember, there is no room for policy crimes," he said.
