Bekasi upbeat about finishing busway route

BEKASI: The Bekasi municipal transportation agency announced Thursday it was optimistic it could complete the construction of a planned 12-kilometer busway corridor from Bekasi to Cawang, East Jakarta, by next year.
Agency head Agus Darma said his office would begin construction in July and expected to finish by the end of the year. The corridor will get 22 shelters and road signs next year.
"We hope to start using the corridor by the end of 2011," Agus said as quoted by tempointeraktif.com.
The Bekasi administration has allocated Rp 19 billion (US$2.05 million) this year for the project. - JP
