Fire guts plastic factory in Central Java

A big fire razed a plastic factory compound in Sukoharjo, Central Java, in the early hours of Friday, leaving most of the buildings inside destroyed.

Sukoharjo Police chief Adj. Sr. Comr. Suharyono told tempointeraktif.com that the police were investigating the cause of fire at the 3,000 square meter wide compound of PT Nusantara Plastik factory.

According to company owner Kuncoro, the fire was first seen at around 2 a.m. and quickly spread.
He said that damage may reach billions of rupiah.

Fire fighters and four firetrucks managed to control the fire and still working to extinguish it at the time of writing.
