Dream a Funny Little Dream for free

A- A A+

Three-minute indie pop tunes always sooth our mood. And it's been a while since we've had a sweet indie pop band, so Funny Little Dream's recent entry into the scene is much appreciated.

The duo was formed in 2007, and it took them almost three years to finally release a self-titled album, comprising eight lovely tracks.

Funny Little Dream, with female vocalist Stephanie Jenny Angeraini and male guitarist/vocalist Ganesha Mahendra, are similar to notable Swedish indie pop act Club 8, which also features a female vocalist and male composer.

Even they tell similar stories in their songs: the joy and sadness of love, which is what indie pop is all about.

While most bands now showcase more complex musical compositions, Funny Little Dream sticks to the basics, with a strong guitar melody and sweet vocals.

"Our musical roots are indie pop. A lot of indie pop songs inspire me to make music," Ganesha says.

Their first single "It Must've Been You" can be heard on http://www.myspace.com/funnylittledream. We can also download their titular song "Funny Little Dream" for free.

"Consider that our way of saying hello," says Stephanie, also known as Peppy.

Although they only released their album in Indonesia in late 2009, some of their songs have been released by foreign labels like US-based Cloudberry Records and Germany-based Vollwert Records.

Cloudberry released their EP in 2008, and inserted some of their songs in two compilations.

Although they've composed many songs, the band rarely plays in gigs. Now as they're looking to promote their debut album, the band is rehearsing, not in a semi-acoustic duo, but as a full-band concept.

It will be nice to hear the band plays in the afternoon when the wind gently blows.
