ENPASAR: To prepare for possible floods during the rainy season in the city, Denpasar administration will implement a new system called biopori.

A senior officer at the Denpasar environmental agency, I Gusti Alit Sudibya, said Sunday that the method had been introduced to several communities in the city.

Moreover, a biopori pilot project has been implemented at the office of the South Denpasar subdistrict head.

Biopori is a water absorbing pit dug into the ground. Each biopori is 80 centimeters deep and 10-30 centimeters in diameter.

One biopori could absorb three liters of water per minute.
