Blackouts in Bogor, Cibinong

A number of areas in Bogor and Cibinong in West Java have been hit by blackouts since dawn on Tuesday. State power company PT PLN has said a damaged power station is the cause of the outage.

Adi, an official from the company, said that areas affected by the blackouts were Pajajaran, Bantar Kemang and Cibinong.

“There's damage to a main power station in Bogor Baru. Even our [local] office was left without electricity,” he told tempointeraktif.com.

Adi said, however, that the blackout would not affect electric commuter train plying the Jakarta-Bogor route.

The official added that the office has deployed four teams to repair the damage but did not say when the work was likely to finish.
