A Bekasi woman has died and her husband is in intensive care Thursday after their son-in-law set fire to their bed, action triggered by a recent family feud.

Waslah and her husband Imam Imanuddin were sleeping when their son-in-law, Khusairi, 45, broke into their house on Jl. Kali Abang Nangka, Bekasi Utara, around 3 a.m., doused their bed with gasoline and lit it.

Neighbors rushed the couple to Bekasi Municipality General Hospital (RSUD). Waslah, who suffered burns to 80 percent of her body died in hospital, while Imam, who has burns over 60 percent of his body, is still in intensive care.

“We have deployed officers to hunt for the suspect,” Bekasi Police chief Sr. Comr. Imam Soegianto said Thursday as quoted by kompas.com.

According to Imam, a few days before the incident, Khusairi had a fight with his wife, Nurlaili. The suspect accused his in-laws of hiding his wife, who has been missing since their fight.
