The Supreme Audit Agency (BPK) refused Friday to hand over crucial data concerning the disbursement of bailout funds for Bank Century to the House of Representatives.
"Unless there is an official order from the court," BPK Chairman Hadi Purnomo told members of the House inquiry committee on the Bank Century case during a consultation meeting.
Members of the committee were trapped in a protracted debate over the responsibility of the BPK to hand over the data. Hadi, however, insisted on withholding the data.
Hadi's persistence finally prompted committee member Akbar Faisal from the People's Conscience Party (Hanura) to walk out of the meeting.
"I'm very disappointed. We, the House committee, hold a mandate from the people. I don't want to just circle the issue in an endless debate over some regulation," he said.
