Dozens of Indonesian Muslim University students in Makassar took to street Friday for the second consecutive rally against the government of President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and Vice President Boediono.

The students gathered outside their campus on Jl. Urip Sumoharjo, set fire on tire stacks and distributed leaflets denouncing the government, which they deemed could not effectively perform.

The rally caused traffic congestion along the street.

In their speech, students vowed to continue their opposition to the government unless the two leaders resigned. They also urged the House of Representatives’ inquiry committee to stay focused on their efforts to unveil irregularities in the Bank Century bailout.

The students said they would set up a post to keep the momentum of their movement.

Makassar is the hometown of former vice president Jusuf Kalla, who Yudhoyono beat in the 2009 presidential election.
