Police admit involvement of officer in gambling case

TANGERANG: The National Police admitted the involvement of a middle-ranking officer in a gambling case in Tangerang, Banten, but it has not named the officer as suspect.

"We are still investigating," police spokesman Insp. Gen. Edward Aritonang said Friday.

He said they had yet to find the motive of the police official who was at a house at Alam Raya housing complex where police found six people gambling,

"*The officer could have* been there only to accompany a family member," Aritonang said.

However he made sure that if the police found an indication of crime it would punish its own official.

"Nobody is immune to the law," he said. - JP
