Police detain suspected terrorist

JAKARTA: Anti-terror squad Densus 88 has arrested a man the authorities had put on the list of most-wanted terror suspects in Indonesia.
Arrested on Wednesday in Sidoarjo, East Java, Eko Budi Wardoyo has been detained in Jakarta for his alleged involvement is a series of terror attacks in the restive Poso, Central Sulawesi, some years ago.
The 32-year-old Eko will be charged with terrorism, including a gold store robbery, a market bombing in Tentena in 2005 and the murder of a protestant preacher, Susianti Tinulele at Effata Church in 2004.
Twenty-two people were killed and 93 others injured in the central market bombing.
National Police spokesman Insp. Gen. Edward Aritonang said Eko would be charged with terrorism. - JP
