The Malaysian Police have named two suspects in connection with the death of housemaid Nurul Aidah, an Indonesian migrant worker from Batubara district in North Sumatra.

An official at the Indonesian embassy in Kuala Lumpur, Amirudin Panjaitan, said Wednesday that the two suspects were identified as Nurul’s employer, Lechumi, and son, Kannan.

“Malaysian prosecutors have charged the suspects with homicide, which carries a maximum penalty of death,” he said in Kuala Lumpur as quoted by Antara state news agency.

Police also released from prison four other people including Lechumi’s husband, Krishnan, in connection with the murder.

Amirudin said the embassy would make sure the case went to court. (nkn)
