First Lady Kristiani “Ani” Herawati Yudhoyono asked wives of Indonesian diplomats to help clarify false and potentially damaging international news on Indonesia.
“If we are being portrayed [in the media] incorrectly, it is your duty to [set the record straight]. Therefore, you have a very important duty,” Ani said in a meeting with Foreign Ministry officials on Thursday.
Ani further said any false news should be clarified as quickly as possible.
“If you don’t [say anything] the international public may continue to think [the media coverage is true].
“So, we must stay alert.” (nkn)
