Bogor to increase tap water prices

BOGOR: Bogor regency water operator announced Thursday it would raise the water ratesbetween 30 to 40 percent next month in response to the recent rise in operating costs.

"But we promise we will improve service to our customers," PDAM Tirta Kahuripan director Hadi Mulya Asmat was quoted as saying by news portal tempointeraktif.com.

The company currently runs three different rates for customers. It sells one cubic meter of water for public use at Rp 950 (10 US cents), to households for Rp 1,300 and to industry for Rp 6,200. - JP
