Padjadjaran University in Bandung has set its student admission fee for the 2010/2011 academic year at between Rp 10 million (US$1,075) and Rp 175 million.

Chairman of the state university’s student selection team Dudi Suryadi said registration could be done online. Applicants need only to buy personal identity numbers (PINs) at designated banks for Rp 350,000 each in order to download registration forms and upload their pictures.

“Applicants now no longer need to queue for the forms and bring lots of documents to register. Everything is now digitalized,” Dudi told a press conference Friday, as quoted by Antara state news agency.

The School of Letters charges the cheapest admission fee, while the School of Medicine is the most expensive. The PIN registration will be available starting in April 20.

Unpad will admit 3,100 students through its self-administered selection test and 3,800 through the joint national university entrance test in mid-2010.
