JAKARTA: Governor Fauzi Bowo said he would revoke the business parking permits of private parking operators who had illegally raised tariffs.
"Three days ago, I ordered all mayors to inspect their areas to see which operators had breached the tariff rules," he told reporters on Friday.
The governor said further that the highest punishment for violators would be a permit termination.

Tariffs for buses is Rp 2,000 for the first hour and Rp 2,000 for each following hour, while motorcycles are charged Rp 500.
Violators of the bylaw will face a maximum of six months in prison or four times the value of levies they owed, according to the 2006 bylaw. - JP
