The People’s Conscience (Hanura) Party will vote for its new chairman in congress in Surabaya, East Java, on Saturday night, an event official said.
Dossy Iskandar, chairman of the congress, told tempointeraktif.com that the party would vote its new chairman late night Saturday after a number of agendas during the day.
Dossy said that the congress, which was opened Friday, would start again at 9 a.m. to hear congress participant responds to the party's executive board report read earlier.
Hanura current chairman Wiranto is tipped to retain his post in the congress, which will run until Sunday.
Hanura finished ninth in the 2009 legislative elections and formed the smallest faction at the House. Wiranto contested the presidential election as former vice president Jusuf Kalla’s running mate.
