Model and actress Sandra Dewi is supremely busy these days, so it’s no surprise that for her, Sunday is a special day for just relaxing away from the camera with family and friends.

For me, Sunday is the perfect time to enjoy the week. I usually spend my Sunday at home. But sometimes I have to travel out of town. This usually has something to do with my work or a road show. If I have no work activities that I have to attend, normally I go to church.

With all these busy activities, you can imagine how I spend my time. It has been hard for me to have a really memorable Sunday. I usually just have time for a casual chat with my family. Sometimes
I might watch a DVD and then… have something to eat.

On other Sundays, if I have to travel out of town, I always try to spend some time seeing the beautiful sights there.

But you know, I still prefer to stay at home on Sundays than to go out somewhere.

I like Sunday because I usually have great empek-empek (fried fish dumplings served with sour and spicy sauce) with my family at home. My father was born in Palembang, South Sumatra, home of the empek-empek, so we often prepare and cook the food ourselves.

For this coming Sunday, which will be the Chinese Lunar New Year, I plan to tidy the house and bake some cookies for the New Year. It will be a special Sunday for my family and me.

Starting this year, I am trying to make Sunday my special holiday because I haven’t really been able to enjoy Sunday in the past couple of years. These days, I work about 20 hours a day from Monday to Saturday. I have to leave my house early every morning to host a music show broadcast live on TV.

I also have to catch up with the daily schedule of filming a sinetron (soap opera). I only get about two to three hours of sleep. So you can imagine that Sunday is really a great day for me.

What I hate is having to leave home for work on Sundays. That is what happened to me for the past two years. Years ago, I used to have so much fun on Sunday. Now, it’s difficult to take a break and enjoy the day, so I’ve been trying to take a day off on Sunday.

When I do get time off on Sunday, it’s time for me to socialize. After attending prayers at church, I usually hang out with my family, or meet friends and sometimes accompany my fans Sanders or Sandra Dewi lovers playing futsal. I don’t actually play futsal myself.

For me, the perfect Sunday is one when I don’t have to wake up early, when I don’t have to hurry to get to a live music concert, when I don’t have to film my sinetron.

My Sunday will be awesome if I can spend the whole day at home wearing my favorite dress: a daster (a loose, inexpensive house dress).
