Bali administration to follow up irregularities

DENPASAR: Bali provincial administration is following up the supreme audit agency's (BPK) findings of irregularities in several government-funded projects during fiscal year 2009.
I Putu Suardhika, the administration spokesman, explained in a press release that the BPK found irregularities in the procurement of school and laboratory equipment for the school for the disabled in Jimbaran.
BPK also found violations in a contracts involving third parties.
"Some projects had different specifications to those noted in the proposal bid," Suardhika said, adding that the administration had already asked contractors to abide by written contracts.
BPK also discovered excessive payments for general health check-ups for members of the Bali Legislative Council. - JP
