First Brig. Endang Rahayu, an officer of Bandung Police in West Java, has been treated for gunshot wounds after he was ambushed by an unidentified gunman in Garut regency.
News portal tempointeraktif.com reported that Endang suffered injuries to his chest, back and hip and is currently being treated at Hasan Sadikin Hospital in Bandung.
Bandung Police chief Sr. Comr. Budi Supeno said Tuesday the office had sent a team to Garut to investigate the incident.
Endang was riding his motorcycle in his home village of Mekarsari, Bungbulang on Monday night when he was shot by the gunman.
