Democratic Party secretary-general Amir Syamsuddin says his party holds no grudge at all against its coalition partners that have taken a different stance on the Bank Century bailout case.
"We just hope that the inquiry committee on the Bank Century case [at the House of Representatives] is willing to interview people from the banking industry, to obtain a fairer perception on the case," he told reporters in Jakarta on Tuesday.
On Monday, four out of five of the Democratic Party’s coalition partners deemed the bailout policy was flawed and smacked of corruption.
Only the National Awakening Party (PKB) agreed with the Democratic Party by judging that there was nothing wrong with the bailout.
The case is about a bailout that rose tenfold to Rp 6.76 trillion (US$716 million) from its original estimate.
The bailout was authorized in November 2008 by former Bank Indonesia governor Boediono, now Vice President and Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati
