Regent says illegal villas have to come down

BOGOR: Bogor regent Rachmat Yasin said he would not protect owners of illegal establishments in Gunung Halimun Salak National Park, Bogor. Rachmat said he would recruit a team to collect data on the establishments in the national park and areas nearby.

"Lately I have received a lot of calls from villa owners asking for protection. I have refused," he said Monday,

The villas were the "products" of abuse of power in the past, as it was clear that building anything in national parks was forbidden. - JP
