Susrama awaits verdict

DENPASAR: After months of trial sessions, Nyoman Susrama, the defendant of the alleged murder of Radar Bali's journalist Anak Agung Gde Bagus Narendra Prabangsa, will learn his fate at Denpasar District Court next Monday.

Presiding Judge Djumain said the judges had agreed to decide the verdict of Susrama after completing the questioning of witnesses and examining all the evidence.

Prosecutors are seeking the death penality for Susrama, who allegedly murdered the journalist, who had published a number of news articles on project irregularities in Bangli regency.

The defendant is the younger brother of Bangli regent I Nengah Arnawa.

Susrama's lawyers insisted the defendant was not guilty of any crime. - JP
