The South Jakarta District Court is slated to hand down its verdict against  former Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) chairman Antasari Azhar in high-profile murder case on Thursday.

State prosecutors have demanded a death sentence for Antasari in the murder of state pharmaceutical company director Nasrudin Zulkarnaen.

Prosecutors told the court that Antasari was convincingly proven of asking others and abetting the killing of Nasrudin on March 14, 2009.

They insisted that the murder evolved around a sexual harassment committed by Antasari against one of Nasrudin’s wives, Rani Juliani, at a hotel room. Nasrudin threatened Antasari after the harassment was unveiled.

The court is also due to issue verdicts for former South Jakarta Police chief Wiliardi Wizar, businessman Sigid Haryo Wibisono and Jerry Lo, in the same case.
