Book on S. Tangerang autonomy launched

TANGERANG: A local journalist launched a book on the history of the formation of the South Tangerang municipality at the Serpong Science and Technology Development and Research Center (Puspitek), South Tangerang, on Thursday.

The book written by Ahmad Sirojudin, a former journalist of the now defunct Tangerang Tribun daily describes the changes and the progress of the new municipality's formation.

"We hope this book can tell curious readers about the history of the South Tangerang municipality as well as being used as a reference for those who are interested in South Tangerang ," said Sirojudin.

The launching also featured a public discussion with former Syarif Hidayatullah Islamic University rector Azzumardi Azra, Ray Rangkuti, the director of Lingkar Madani and Margiono, a member of the South Tangerang Presidium. - JP
