Issues: ‘China views Kashmir as a major dispute’

While Pakistan has been calling for the international community to help resolve the 62-year-old Kashmir dispute as per the wishes of the Kashmiri people, according to the United Nations resolutions, India has continued with its claims that Kashmir is an integral part of its nation. The world generally sees Kashmir as a land dispute between India and Pakistan.
However, based on historical facts China is also a part of this complex issue to which a solution is essential for lasting peace in the region.China has been taking a different stance than India and views Kashmir as a separate entity and not an integral part of India.

Your comments:
I think the writer is spot on. “Incredible India” must look at the plight of the Kashmiris and act responsibly, especially if it wants to be respected among other countries in general and its neighbors in particular.
The hypocritical nature of India is clearly exposed by the placement of 700,000 troops stationed is Indian-“occupied” Kashmir. A referendum needs to be conducted as soon as possible. I pray for the souls who are suffering in that place under illegitimate Indian “occupation”.

China is keen about expanding their territory. Not just Akasi-Chin, but the whole of Kashmir is there in their hidden demands.
China is playing the game of fooling Pakistan and keeping it in front against India.
The real problem behind the Kashmir issue is not just the passion of India or Pakistan towards Kashmir, but the imperial, overambitious Chinese interests.
We should admit one fact – China is successful in getting more territories and suppressing the population of those lands undemocratically. Wait for more plays by the infamous China over the India’s and Pakistan’s feelings on Kashmir.

The writer, I have a very high regard for you, and I appreciate your views. I must, however, also advise you that when you side with China on the Kashmir issue, you must also mention something about Tibet.
Please read the history of undivided India before the so-called partition. My parents were victims of that “event”.
I have seen the suffering of my grandmother, father, and mother — uprooted from their homeland. I can, therefore, understand the ordeals of not only the Kashmiri pundits, but also the Kashmiri Muslims living in Kashmir. I have been to Kashmir three times within last two years, and have written a book on the same.
I would be more than pleased to share with you my findings and my interviews with notable Kashmiri Muslims, names to be reckoned with, and what they think about this whole issue.

This is good public relations for China. Real peace can only be achieved once India changes its law against terrorists. If India removes the special status accorded to Kashmir, restoring Kashmir pundits and other original inhabitants and driving out the terrorists, peace could be achieved. India should join with the US and Russia to eliminate the terrorists.
Pakistan wants to make the entire Kashmir valley into a terrorist breeding-ground. So, as long as its begging bowl is filled by China, China can claim anything donated by Pakistan. The author conveniently included China in claiming Kashmir, whereas China got a donation from Pakistan of that which belongs to India.
Yes, if India has a clear policy against terrorists, it can avoid the proxy Pakistan and focus on the real enemy, China.
China only understands the language of power. So India should balance it. I look forward the author writing more about Tibet and Taiwan which China also forcefully claims.

Some of the comments here made by my Indian friends are actually very surprising because (in a way) they are contradicting India’s belief in self-governance.
If Indians feel that Kashmir is rightly and justly theirs, then just stand your ground …why be scared of China’s involvement?
Is it because they are a bigger power? Or is it because America (very recently) bailed on India’s stance and brushed aside India’s baseless and impractical propositions regarding Kashmir? Only Indians would know!
