Authorities at Djuanda Airport in Surabaya, East Java, have closed the airport since Saturday morning after a Batavia Air plane blown one tire shortly before taking off earlier in the day.
Firtson Mansyur, spokesman of the airport, said that there were no injuries in the incident.
“All passengers have been evacuated safely,” he said as quoted by tempointeraktif.com.
The Batavia Air flight was supposed to fly from Surabaya to Makassar, South Sulawesi.
The airport is delaying six flights scheduled to take-off from the airport on Saturday morning, redirecting all coming plane to Bandara Ngurah Rai in Denpasar, Bali.
The airport was closed as authorities were working to remove the plane from the runway.
At the time of writing, the airport has yet to be re-opened.
