Tangerang to give free civil registry service

TANGERANG: Celebrating its 17th anniversary, the Tangerang municipal administration will open, on Feb. 23, a free civil registry service.

TANGERANG: Celebrating its 17th anniversary, the Tangerang municipal administration will open, on Feb. 23, a free civil registry service.

The mobile service is aimed for residents who want to extend their ID card or apply for a birth certificate for their child.

"We will prepare two cars *for the event* so that residents can submit their application online," the city's population and civil registry agency head Undang Herman Maksudi said Sunday.

Undang, however, said the free service was for parents whose children were born less than two months ago. - JP
