JAKARTA: Before lunchtime Monday, Vice President Boediono left his office to help celebrate his wife's birthday.
He waited for his wife to arrive back from a function with First Lady Ani Yudhoyono.
Herawati Boediono entered her house on Jl. Diponegoro in Central Jakarta to her husband saying happy birthday to her.
Afterward, Boediono, accompanied by his staff, sang a birthday song, "Panjang Umurnya" or "Long Live".
Tumpeng (cone-shaped yellow rice) was presented to Herawati. She gave the first share to her husband. Herawati was celebrating her 66th birthday.
Earlier at the function with the First Lady, Herawati also had Ani Yudhoyono and wives of the Cabinet ministers singing happy birthday to her.
After throwing the surprise party, Boediono returned to his office with his staff. - JP
