Former vice president Jusuf Kalla, now chairman of the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI), declined to comment on the Bank Century controversy when reporters try to interview him prior to his meeting with the House of Representatives Commission on social welfare and health.
"Just ask Chandra Tirta Wijaya," he said
Kalla was referring to a National Awakening Party (PAN) legislator who was one of the earliest initiators of the Bank Century inquiry committee.
Kalla is considered a key witness in the bailout investigation as he was the acting president when the policy was authorized in November 2008.
The bailout multiplied ten times from its original estimate to Rp 6.76 trillion (US$716 million).
