Moderate quake hits Bengkulu

An earthquake of magnitude 5 shook Bengkulu at 6:47 a.m. on Tuesday sending residents running out of their houses in panic, but there were no reports of casualties or damage.
News portal tempointeraktif.com reported that local residents stopped their morning activities to run out of their houses.
The local office of the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency, reported that the quake struck 62 kilometers northwest of Lais district in North Bengkulu at 13 kilometers beneath the surface.
Last month, a 5.3-magnitude earthquake jolted the province.
