Singaporean warship RSS Persistence arrived at Bitung seaport in North Sulawesi on Tuesday for a visit aimed at enhancing ties between the navies of Singapore and Indonesia.

During the tour of friendship, the warship commander, Lt. Col. Lee Soon Tat, handed over 33 engine parts to Bitung naval base commander Commodore Willem Ramapangilei.

“The visit of RSS Persistence will give a boost to good relationship between the two nations,” Willem said.

The landing ship tank is carrying 78 Singaporean Navy cadets, who will conduct a number of social activities during their visit, which will last until Saturday.
