Golkar Party chairman Aburizal Bakrie said Wednesay his party was not aiming to impeach Vice President Boediono in the Bank Century bailout case and called on the Constitutional Court to resolve the case.
"When the bailout was decided, Boediono was Bank Indonesia governor, not vice president. So we cannot talk about impeachment in this case," Aburizal said as quoted by kompas.com.
Golkar considers Boediono and Finance Minister Sri Mulyani responsible for the Rp 6.7 trillion (US$716 million) bailout in 2008 and is urging law enforcers to take legal action against the two.
It also suspects corruption in the bailout fund disbursement.
"We now need to bring the case to the Constitutional Court," Aburizal said.
