President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono held talks with People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) leaders at his office on Thursday.

No official statement was available concerning the meeting, which lasted two hours, Antara reported. The presidential office had said earlier the meeting was held for "communication purposes."

The meeting took place two days after three parties, including two of Yudhoyono’s coalition partners, demanded a legal process against Vice President Boediono and Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati in connection with the Bank Century bailout which they said was flawed.

During the meeting, the President was accompanied by, among others, Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Djoko Suyanto, Coordinating Minister for the Economy Hatta Rajasa, Coordinating Minister for People’s Welfare Agung Laksono and Indonesian Military chief Gen.Djoko Santoso.

The presidential office said MPR Speaker Taufik Kiemas was flanked by his deputies Melani Leimena Suharli, Hajriyanto Tohari, Lukman Hakim Saefuddin and Ahmad Farhan Hamid.

After the meeting, the President is scheduled to chair a Cabinet meeting.
