JAKARTA: National Police spokesman Insp. Gen. Edward Aritonang said he was aware of a recent book regarding former chief detective Comr. Gen. Susno Duadji, acknowledging that he had discussed the book with Susno.
"I discussed this with Susno and he said that he didn't write the book," he said Friday.
The police are studying the book as part of their efforts to uncover new evidence in case, he said.
"We would like to find new evidence in this book as it would assist in our investigation," he said.
The book, Not Susno's Testimony, contains many points critical of the National Police and its leaders. Author Izharry Agusjaya Moenzir said the book was his way of apologizing to Susno for his previous perspective of the three-star general.
"I was among those who saw Susno as the bad guy in many scandals, such as the gecko-versus-crocodile scandal and the Bank Century bailout," he was quoted as saying by news portal detik.com. -JP
