A 5-magnitude earthquake shook Sumbawa in West Nusa Tenggara province at 3.33 p.m. local time on Sunday, a state agency has reported.
The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency reported that the quake struck 159 kilometers off the coast southeast of West Nusa Tenggara's capital, Mataram, at 45 kilometers beneath the surface.
No immediate reports of casualties or damage. The quake did not have the potential to generate a tsunami, the agency said.
