The state revenue target from excise has reached Rp 11.29 trillion (US$1.21
billion) as of Feb. 23, accounting for 19.71 percent of the target set in the
2010 state budget.
The Directorate General of Customs and Excise says the government expects to
raise Rp 57.29 trillion from excise this year.
In the same period, import tax reached Rp 2.36 trillion or14.25 percent of the
target of Rp16.57 trillion, while export tax stood at Rp 312.04 billion or 4.09
percent of the target of Rp 7.63 trillion.
“The revenue from excise is considerable, although the total revenue is
considered low mainly because we are still in the early part of the year,” director
general of customs and excise Thomas Sugijata was quoted as saying by Antara state
news agency Monday.
