Suspected owner of dope may face life imprisonment

BOGOR: State prosecutors are seeking a life sentence for suspect Jamal Zulhag for the alleged possession of more than 100 kilograms of marijuana.

During a hearing at Bogor District Court on Monday, prosecutor Bambang Permadi said the defendant had been proven to have owned 105 packages of dry marijuana with a total weight of 100 kilograms, and 45 packages of the drug (of around 1 kg each) ready for sale.

The owner could make up to Rp 100,000 (US$10.7) in profits per package, Bambang said. - JP
