SBY summons Boediono, Mulyani prior to speech

President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono summoned Vice President Boediono and Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati a few hours before a scheduled speech to respond to the House of Representative’s recommendations on the Bank Century bailout tonight.
 
News portal kompas.com reported that Boediono and Mulyani arrived at the Presidential Palace in Central Jakarta at 3 p.m. There was no official statement concerning the meeting, which was held behind closed doors.
 
The House voted on Wednesday night on a recommendation that includes starting legal measures against Boediono and Mulyani, who the House say wrongly issued the bailout, which cost the state Rp 6.76 trillion (US$716 million), ten times the original estimate.

Both Boediono and Mulyani are also scheduled to issue statements on the House vote following the President’s speech.
