Indonesian maid wanted for alleged torture

Malaysian actress Siti Shahrizah Saifuddin, better known as Eja, has filed a report with the police against her Indonesian maid for allegedly torturing her six-month-old baby, Antara reported.

Local media quoted Eja as saying Saturday that her child Nur Eishal injured her lip and hand as a result of the abuse. The maid, identified as Mona from Medan, fled her employer’s home in Kuala Lumpur on Feb. 18.

Eja said her maid had damaged a number of home appliances prior to her escape, causing RM 50,000 in losses.

The TV and movie actress hired Mona from an agent for RM 6,200.

Eja said her maid held a passport which said she was 29 years old, but the actress suspected her domestic worker was just a teenager.
