The Attorney General’s Office has named another two former Foreign Ministry officials as suspects in a graft case involving the mark up of diplomatic travel costs between 2008 and 2009.

The two suspects were treasurers handling the financing of diplomatic travel.

They are currently being held at Salemba penitentiary in South Jakarta.

“We have now named five suspects in the case,” the attorney’s special crime investigator, Arminsyah, told Antara state news agency.

The other three suspects previously arrested are travel company, PT Indonwanua Inti Sentosa’s director Syarwani Soeni, and two former finance bureau employees at the foreign ministry, Ade Wismar Wijaya and Ade Sudirman.

The AGO has questioned 21 witnesses in the case and has sufficient evidence to charge the two suspects. The graft case is believed to have caused state losses of Rp 2.2 billion (US$236,500).
