Palembang Square and International Plaza, two shopping malls in Palembang, received bomb threats on Wednesday from an unidentified caller claiming to be a member of Jemaah Islamiyah.
The caller made call to the Ilir Barat and Ilir Timur Police Offices, saying he would detonate bombs in both malls.
Soon after the threat, police deployed the Gegana bomb squad, and the Detachment 88 anti-terror team.
Ilir Barat Police chief Adj. Comr. Gusti Candra said his officers found a suspicious object in a garbage bin in International Plaza, but found nothing in Palembang square.
Police were still tracing the caller's phone number, which fell inactive after the threat.
