JAKARTA: South Jakarta will soon have a fruit park, on a 1,000 square-meter plot in Rawajati subdistrict.
The park, with at least 200 fruit trees, will be officially opened on March 12.
“The fruit park is now 99 percent complete,” South Jakarta Park Agency chief Heru Bambang Ermanto said, as quoted by beritajakarta.com on Tuesday.
Local citizens have contributed trees including mangoes, rambutan and guava.
Heru said the maintenance of the park would be handed over to district officials and residents in the surrounding area, however the park agency would still monitor the maintenance of the park.
“If there is an investor who wants to make a similar park, the agency would help them,” Heru said. — JP
