The Food and Drug Monitoring Agency (BPOM) in Lampung announced Thursday that it has confiscated illegal herbal medicines and cosmetics during raids.
Indra Ginting, head of the agency, said the office had confiscated at least 7,200 packets of herbal medicine and dozens of counterfeit brand cosmetic items that allegedly contain dangerous substances from four stores in Bandar Jaya and Kota Gajah, Central Lampung.
“The raids were done following surveillance,” he said as quoted by tempointeraktif.com.
Indra said the agency would examine the confiscated goods and inform the provincial police in the hope of bringing the cases to court.
