Hundreds of taxi drivers clash with security officers at Gambir Station, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday. The drivers protested the Blue Bird taxi company’s monopoly on parking lots. Coordinator of the rally Daniel Dali said that taxis other than Blue Bird were without notice barred from operating at the station two months ago. The controversy started when PT Kereta Api through PT Anugerah Bina Karya held a tender for a taxi rank at the station, jointly won by Blue Bird and rival taxi company Putra.
