The police have tightened security at the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport following fatal raids on two separate locations in Pamulang, South Tangerang, on Tuesday where three terror suspects were killed.
Airport Police chief Sr. Comr. Tornagogo Sihombing said Thursday that officers were expected to check all vehicles heading to the airport as a preventive attempt against dangerous materials visitors might have in their vehicles.
“There is nothing special about this,” he said. “It is a common task for the police to undertake.”
Officers checked vehicles, paying special attention to those without airport stickers, entering the airport at the main gate of Sudiyatmo turnpike from Jakarta and at M-1 gate from Tangerang municipality.
