The city administration said Friday it would provide a temporary shelter for vendors in Senen Inpres market, Central Jakarta, whose kiosks were razed by Thursday's fire.
"We are now still looking for a location [for the shelter]," Governor Fauzi Bowo said.
According to Fauzi, the administration would prioritize book sellers, who had been resettled by the administration to the market from nearby Kwitang area.
Fire destroyed more than 300 kiosks and stalls early Thursday at Blok VI of the Senen Inpres market.
No injuries were reported, but financial loss is predicted to reach Rp 3.5 billion (US$381,000).
There are currently a total of 2,300 kiosks in the market.
