President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and his entourage arrived in Jakarta on Friday afternoon after a five-day trip to Australia and Papua New Guinea.

The Garuda Indonesia presidential plane touched down at Halim Perdanakusumah Airport in East Jakarta after a flight from Jackson Internasional Airport in Port Moresby, Antara reported.

Vice President Boediono and his wife Herawati were among government officials who greeted the President and First Lady Ani Yudhoyono. The President proceeded to his private residence in Cikeas in the West Java regency of Bogor.

Yudhoyono’s visit to Australia to bolsters ties between the two neighbors was deemed as a success, as evident in the reception of the local government, parliament and business community.

In Port Moresby President Yudhoyono and PNG Prime Minister Michael Somare signed an agreement to open an official border crossing at Sokau-Wutung between the two countries earlier on Friday.
