Seven Iranians may face death sentence

DENPASAR: Bali police have submitted the dossiers of seven Iranian nationals involved in drug trafficking to the Denpasar District Court on Wednesday.
The police charged Masoud Soltani Nabizadeh, Saeid Soltani Nabizadeh, Mohsen Mohammadi Argasi, Bahman Mirzae, Alireza Safarkhanloo, Mehdi Alinejad Golestan and Daryoush Omid Ali with violating the 2009 Narcotics Law, which carries the maximum penalty of death.
The seven suspects are being detained at Kerobokan Prison in Kuta. Bali Police arrested the seven suspects in December last year for smuggling hundreds of capsules of crystal methamphetamine into the country.
Officials at Ngurah Rai International Airport's custom office arrested the Iranians upon their arrival at the airport from Istanbul via Doha, Qatar. - JP
